About this site

This site is the result of my investigations into wearable computers. I have been reading about wearable computers and associated technologies in the press. I have been searching the web for research projects as well as commercially available products. I believe it is only a matter of time before wearables become ubiquitous – in some shape or form.

Recently moved site to WordPress and completely reorganized and updated all entries.

About me

I have been interested in mobile computing and small computers for some time. I purchased an original NEC PC8201A (TRS-80 Model 100). I worked at Apple Computer on software for the original PowerBooks and worked on innovative software and hardware for pen based computing at Go Corporation. Hi Andy,
Great collection you have here. I loved seeing your older computers. (I got to work on the mechanical design of the Gavilan laptop in ’83.) My current project is what I think is the practical approach to wearable computing. It takes advantage of our existing input skills, and couples them with either an embedded computer or a smartphone with the same capabilities. Check out the http://solatido.com/ site and let me know if you have any first impressions. You can also find me on LinkedIn at http://www.linkedin.com/pub/tom-sherlock/22/a06/8a .
Thanks a bunch for the tour,
    Tom
